Description
Part 1 - An electrician in an industrial setting is often called on to wire control panels and operator station panels on machines. There are many things that an electrician must know before beginning this task. For example, an electrician must be able to read and interpret electrical prints. An electrician must also be able to select and install terminal blocks in the panels. In addition, an electrician should be able to determine the number of wires that need to be run between the panels as well as what wire colors are needed. This course covers how to do all of these things. Learning how to use an electrical print to determine these details will help you when you actually wire a circuit.
Part 2 - Wiring should be installed in an electrical panel in a neat and orderly manner, according to the electrical print. There are several practices that should be followed when installing wiring in an electrical panel that help ensure safety and make the troubleshooting process much easier. This course covers how to properly install control wiring in an electrical panel. Topics include proper wire coding, proper wire termination techniques, and proper wire bundling.
