Description
This course teaches participants a five-step decision-making process that combines a variety of methods to provide an effective approach to solving simple to complex organizational problems. Each step of the process is explained in detail. Participants have the opportunity to be involved in group discussions, apply the process learned using case study and finally apply the solution to their own problem or decision making. Participants leave the workshop with implementation tools, forms and additional resources.

Course Content
* Learn a 5-step process to make decisions, improves a process, or to solve a problem.

* An awareness inventory to measure the extent of participants’ understanding of making decisions.
* After completing this course, participants will be able to:
* Follow an orderly, step-by-step problem-solving/decision-making process
* Write a problem statement that clearly defines the workplace situation.
* Assess the context of the problem.
* Analyze and identify the root cause(s) of the problem or available options.
* Involve team members in evaluation of root cause(s) and a possible solution.
* Create plans to implement the solution.
* Get agreement and support for implementation.
* Exercises, forms, case studies, troubleshooting guide, job aids, resource materials and skill practice aids for the five-step process appear in participant’s workbook.
Target Audience
Newly appointed leaders of people and projects, emerging leaders of people and projects, good refresher training for those who have been in a leadership position for a period of time and anyone who will benefit from the objectives of the course.
