Description
Governing or managing a public utility system, regardless if it is an authority, a municipal system or privately owned takes hard work, dedication and education. Understanding regulations, compliance issues and financial ability are the cornerstones of a viable business.
Members of the management must know what they are legally liable for? What type of law firm is best suited to serve the needs of a utility, what kinds of insurance should a system have and how much? Do they have the correct policies, resolutions or ordinances that will stand up in court if they are ever challenged? When can you shut a customer's service off?
This course was designed to help answer those questions and to steer the decision makers and mangers in the right direction from the start in order to avoid problems in the future.
