Description
This short course will explain how ungrouted geothermal heat pump system boreholes pose a potential contamination threat to groundwater produced by public water supply wells. Animated diagrams and real-world job-site examples will be used to demonstrate proper grouting of both closed-loop and open loop geothermal heat pump systems. A case study of the implementation and operation of a drilling ordinance for geothermal heat pump system boreholes and wells will be presented.
