Description
Congressional committees are currently reviewing Bills that may require water and wastewater systems to become part of the Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS). It is imperative that water and wastewater managers and personnel practice responding to chemical spills and releases. This course and accompaning tabletop exercise will present a worst-case scnenario involving a catestrophic chlorine release. It will bring together water and wastewater personnel, first responders and various agencies to discuss how they would respond to such an incident. The exercise will allow the group to test their ability to work together under the principles of ICS, their ability to communicate effectively and share critical information, their ability to mitigate consequences of the event and their ability to initiate an effective and efficent recovery effort.
