Description
The majority of wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) utilize the activated sludge process. Although this process is very efficient at removing pollutants before wastewater is discharged into a receiving stream, it involves managing a biological system that can provide operators with difficult problems at times. This training course is designed to imporve the skills of operations staff at an activated sludge WWTP to intrepret process data in order to implement appropriate adjustments that will result in optimiezed performance of their facility. This 7 hour course includes discussions of the principles of activated sludge, as well as detailed descriptions of key process control test procedures and interpretation of test data. Discussions will include specific case studies and participants will be encouraged to share experiences relating to issues at their facility.
