Description
This course is designed to educate Wastewater Decision Makers, Managers and Operators the importance of operating like a business. The training includes business planning financial planning, capital planning and operational and maintenance planning. Using methods to assess the current condition of wastewater system enables the utility personnel to plan for future capacity demands. Communities are too often taken by surprise by expansion and repair needs that cause large rate increases. Planning helps utilities implement rate increases in amanner that is more acceptable to their comsumers while saving for capital costs. A small wastewater system that has done sound business planning in all areas of their operation is a system that is better able to protect the environment as well as the health and welfare of the community it serves.
