Description
Collection systems are vital to the total system. The proper operation and maintenance of the total system prevents overflows and backups of wastewater into residences, commerical establishments and industries.

Course Content
Emergency Bypass Pumping: Overview of available equipment, proper operation and maintenance of pumps, and hands-on training of setting up bypass pumping.
Collection system math: Formulas and clculations to determine capacity of certain wastewater elements, a review of mathematical subjects for flows, volumes, friction loss and desired pumping times.
Root Control: Identification of areas of roots and other growths, chemical and mechanical solutions will be discussed, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of root control.
Target Audience
Wastewater operators and collection system operators.
