Description
Provision of a five-hour training seminar. Training shall include excavation and trenching safety in accordance with the requirements specified by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) at 29CFR1926.650-652 Subpart P.
The purpose is to ensure an understanding of the following:
1. OSHA Overview
2. Hazards associated with excavation and trenching
3. Excavation standard equipment
4. Competent person requirements
5. Soil behavior
6. Soil classification
7. Selection and use of protective systems (e.g. trench box)
8. Operating in hazardous atmospheres
