Description
This one-day class is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the disinfectant monitoring required as part of the Groundwater Rule. Attendees will learn all aspects of chlorine testing using the Hach Pocket Colorimeter. Verification of results using standards will also be discussed and practiced. Online, continuous chlorine analyzers will be discussed and demonstrated. Verification of online analyzer results will also be practiced. Participants will leave the course with an understanding of laboratory and online chlorine measurement and performance verification.

* Introduction to Colorimetric Analysis - Presentation on the theory and techniques involved in colorimetric analysis
* Chlorine analysis using powder pillows and AccuVacs, high range chlorine analysis, verification with secondary standard and standard solutions
* Operation and maintenance of CL17, CL17 verification with standard solution, grab sample verification versus running analyzer

The target audience for this class includes water operators from small systems, lab analysts and managers, quality control supervisors, regulatory personnel and environmental protection staff - anyone who may need information on the disinfectant analysis required as part of the Groundwater Rule or information on CL17 operation and maintenance.
