Description
This course has been taught by myself and others for about 15 years. This course is designed to educate indivuals in hazard recognition and advoidance. training covers the purpose and use of personal protective equipment. Course also educatesthe need and use of air monitoring equipment. Without air monitoring equipment to detect carbon monoxide, the presence of as low as 4000 ppm or 4/10th of 1 percent of the air we breath, this colorless and odorless gas will cause death through chemical asphyxiation within minutes.

* Explanation of what a permit required confined space is * Examples of confined spaces * Confined space hazards * Signs and symptoms of exposure * Use of air monitoring equipment * Use of winch and tripod for safe entry and rescue * Use and limitations of respiratory equipment used in entry * Pre-checklist and confined apace permit review.
Target Audience
Anyone who would be entering a confined space including Manholes, wetwells, silos, tanks. Anyone who is responsibile for the safety of the entrant such as the authorized attendant. Anyone who would be incharge of crews that would be entering a confined space.
