Description
This course will present essential safety concerns related to the work place. It will define the safety hazards and determine how to protect workers from shock, arc-flash and electrocution. It will identify safety policies and procedures as required by 29 CFR 1910 OSHA’s General Industry Regulations, Subpart S 301 – 399 and NFPA’s 70E. It will discuss safety procedures needed when exposed to live circuits, as well as, identify procedures to evaluate hazards. This program will cover the selection and use of required Personal Protective Equipment and explain the limitations of this equipment. Lockout/Tagout is also covered in this program.

Course Content
1. The student will identify policies and procedures as required by 29 CFR 1910 OSHA’s General Industry Regulations, Subpart S 301 – 399 NFPA’s 70E. 2. The student will define the safety hazards and determine how to protect against shock, arc-flash and electrocution. 3. The student will identify proper safety equipment and serviceability of hand and portable power tools. 4. The student will identify safety procedures needed when exposed to live circuits as well as identify procedures to evaluate hazards. 5. The student will identify appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and explain the limitations of said equipment. 6. The student will demonstrate lock out tag out procedures applicable to any specific activity or facility.
