Description
This course will provide the student with the skills and knowledge objectives to identify hazardous materials problems, recognize the presence of hazardous materials, and identify associated dangers. This course will meet the requirements for annual review under 29 CFR 1910.120.

Course Content
• The student will identify the risks associated with hazardous materials.
• The student will describe the potential outcome associated with an emergency created when hazardous materials are present.
• The student will recognize hazardous materials in an emergency.
• The student will identify the hazardous materials when possible.
• The student will identify the role of the first responder at the awareness level.
• The student will demonstrate the use of the North American Emergency Response Guidebook.
• The student will identify the need for additional resources and to make the appropriate notification to the communications center.
