Description
BV Site employees, including Utility Technicians, need to be able to operate and interpret the results from the various portable instruments used to ensure that they are working in a safe environment/atmosphere. This is particularly important during certain maintenance activities (confined space entry) and spill cleanups (sodium hypochlorite).

Course Content
At the end of this training session, learners will be able to:
1. Understand what a confined space is and what hazards are associated with it.
2. Understand the responsibilities of an Entrant, Attendant (Hole Watch) and Emissions Tester
3. Understand what constitutes a safe or unsafe atmosphere, i.e., oxygen, LEL, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, etc.
4. Understand how to calibrate and use the instruments.
5. Understand what their role is during an emergency.
