The course is designed to give the wastewater treatment plant operator an overview of the topics listed in the EPA document "NPDES Compliance Inspection Manual". This is the same manual that EPA inspectors use when preparing to inspect treatment facilities. By using this document as a template, we have given the treament plant operator, manager, compliance personnel, and superintendents insight as to what EPA and inspectors are looking for during an inspection of their facility. Operators may even use this training as a guideline to perform inspections of their own treatment plants. The lessons may also be used to learn more about the various processes that are used in wastewater treatment and water reclamation.
