Description
Studies have shown that significant savings in non-revenue water and total water consumption can be realized through control valves incorporating advanced pressure management technology. This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of pilot controlled, hydraulically operated pressure reducing valves and how those valves and SCADA provided data can be utilized to modulate pressure throughout the system.
Through pressure modulation the operator can reduce that part of the systems non-revenue water that is lost directly to leakage. This is the prime objective of pressure management. As a secondary benefit the frequency of line breaks can be greatly reduced.
