Description
With ever tightening budgets, one of the challenges facing municipalities and authorities is controlling operational costs. Key components of this challenge are the safe, effective and efficient operation and maintenance of pump stations. This requires collection system operators not only to have an understanding of the components of their stations, but also the knowledge to operate and maintain these components. This course will provide students with information on how to properly operate and maintain their pump stations, which will ultimately increase the reliability of these facilities, reduce equipment failures and extend the useful life of station components. All of which contribute to an overall reduction in emergency operation and reduces the likelyhood of pump station Sanitary Sewer Overflows.
