Description
As drinking water regulations become more complex and customers demand higher quality water, water suppliers and operations personnel must keep their knowledge of treatment technologies current. This course will provide the latest information on understanding and improving existing plant processes to produce high finished water quality and on new treatment processes that may be needed to meet future requirements.
Though regulations can vary by state, the instructors do not stress local issues, rather the :broad, industry-wide techniques for water treatment that can be applied opperationally.

Topics to be covered include:
• Optimizing coagulation, sedimentation and filtration
• Improving disinfection and reducing disinfection by-products
• Groundwater treatment: iron manganese, hydrogen sulfide, and VOC control
• Organic Chemical removal
• Advanced treatment technologies, including ozone, carbon absorption, membranes and UV
• Regulations and compliance criteria
