Description
AUDITING THE ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORY
An internal audit can alert laboratory personnel to trouble spots and allow time to make changes before regulatory officials arrive. This course outlines the major indicators of a well-functioning laboratory: management responsibility, sample handling, quality system, document control, log books, accuracy and precision, methodology, reagents, method detection limits, data handling, calibration, maintenance, training, corrective action, ethics, and proficiency testing. Organized in a simple checklist format—with items customized to fit state-specific regulations—this course prepares you to thoroughly audit your laboratory.
LABORATORY CALCULATIONS
One erroneous calculation can produce a string of bad data. Misrepresented data can skew results and mislead the end data user. This course reviews common laboratory calculations including: determination of final concentrations of solutions and standards, percent recovery and relative percent difference calculations and quality control sample precision and accuracy determinations will also be discussed.
