Description
The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the design, construction, operation and maintence of wastewater collection systems. The use of pumps, metering devices, chemical feed systems and basic hydraulics as they pertain to wastewater conveyance and treatment processes will be discussed.

* Collection System Part I: an overview of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of wastewater collection systems. * Collection Part II: an overview of the different types of pumping stations, their components and the regulatory requirements associated with pumping stations. * Pumps & Hydraulics: an overview of pumps and basic hydraulics. * Flow Meters: an overview of basic flow metering technologies and instruction on calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting. * Chemical Feed Systems: an overview of chemicals used in wastewater treatment, safe handling, dosing calculations and proper operation and maintenance. * I/I and Wet Weather - Sources of Inflow and Infiltration, I/I abatement programs, collection system operations at high flows, treatment plant operations at high flows and asset management.. * Component 2 Review/Test
