Description
The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the design, operation, maintenance and operational problems associated with ponds & lagoons, rotating biological contactors and trickling filter treatment systems. A basic overview of the activated sludge treatment process will also be discussed.

* Ponds and Lagoons: an overview of the design, operation, maintenance and typical operational problems.
* Trickling Filters: an overview of the trickling filter process, operating strategies, operational problems and start-up and maintenance requirements.
* RBCs: an overview of the RBC treatment process highlighting advantages and disadvantages, O & M issues and typical operational problems.
* Introduction to Activated Sludge: A basic overview of the activated sludge process will be discussed.
* Component 6 Review/Test
Target Audience
New operators, not yet certified and certified operators wanting to earn continuing education credit.
