Description
The Water Chemistry course is a fast paced one day course that shows how everything in the treatment process, including water quality, is affected by the water chemistry. Chemical selection and determining dosages will be covered in detail. The major focus of the class will be pH and how it affects everything in water treatment, from corrosion to disinfection. There will be an hands-on activity measuring pH's and alkalinities of various solutions after adding acids and bases to them. There will also be an exercise to determine the cost difference in switching a plant from alum to aluminum chlorohydrate.
