Description
This course consists of three modules designed to reinforce important personal safety practices and guidelines related to ergonomics (Part I), personal protective equipment (Part II) and safety when working in customers’ homes (Part III).

Course Content
This course will focus on employee personal safety in three areas.
• Part I, Ergonomics, describes the importance of biomechanical leverage in performing job tasks, details injury risk factors and demonstrates stretching exercises and proper lifting techniques.
• Part II, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), reviews the requirements and purpose of PPE and demonstrates how to don/doff and maintain
• PPE. Part II, Safety When Working in Customers Homes, describes situational awareness, the procedures and precautions to take in residences, and discusses potential hazards from aggressive dogs, insects and rodents.
Target Audience
This course is appropriate for all water utility personnel involved in maintenance activities and repairs and service calls in customer homes
