Course Content
Upon completion of this course, attendees will be familiar with: • The OSHA Regulatory Requirements of the Chemical Hygiene/Lab Safety Standard, • Basic Chemical Safety (Physical Hazards & Toxicology) related to Laboratories, • Typical Laboratory Activities and the Safety Risks Associated with them • How to use MSDS (SDS) & Container Labeling and Pictograms (GHS) to gather information on laboratory hazards, • The need for and functions of Safety Equipment such as Fume Hoods/Ventilation, Safety Cabinets, Container Handling Devices, and Eyewash/Safety Shower, • Personal Protective Equipment Specific to Laboratories
Target Audience
Water and Wastewater plant operator who work with hazardous chemicals in laboratory settings. Any employee that works with hazardous chemicals in laboratory settings.
