Course Content
Upon completion of this course, attendees will be familiar with:
• The OSHA Regulatory Requirements of the Chemical Hygiene/Lab Safety Standard,
• Basic Chemical Safety (Physical Hazards & Toxicology) related to Laboratories,
• Typical Laboratory Activities and the Safety Risks Associated with them
• How to use MSDS (SDS) & Container Labeling and Pictograms (GHS) to gather information on laboratory hazards,
• The need for and functions of Safety Equipment such as Fume Hoods/Ventilation, Safety Cabinets, Container Handling Devices, and Eyewash/Safety Shower,
• Personal Protective Equipment Specific to Laboratories

Water and Wastewater plant operator who work with hazardous chemicals in laboratory settings. Any employee that works with hazardous chemicals in laboratory settings.
