Description
The purpose of the course is to give students a working understanding of backflow prevention assemblies and introduction to troubleshooting in the classroom then to demonstrate disassembly, repair, and reassembly of mulitple models of backflow prevention devices in a hands-on "rotating workstation" environment.

Course Content
1:00-1:10- Introduction- ASSE Series 5000 Qualification Standards
1:10-2:00- Repair and Maintenance Overview- Review of operation and repair of check valve types, review and operation, troubleshooting and repair of differential pressure relief valves, tools, parts, cleaning and lubrication, safety, etc…
2:00-5:00- Repair and Maintenance Workstations- There will be 4 workstations where qualified technicians from several different manufacturers will demonstrate proper disassembly and reassembly of many models of Reduced Pressure Principal Assemblies and Double Check Valve Assemblies. After demonstrations are complete the remaining time will be spent on hands on practice. Participants will spend 45 minutes at each station.
