Description
This course will provide the background about the use of chlorine gas used in the water industry, included the characteristics and hazards associated with handling. With the hazard bring safety requirement, the use of personal safety equipment and specialized equipment to control chlorine emergencies.

Course Content
Student will be instructed in the following areas: Characteristics of Liquid and Gaseous Chlorine The Chemistry ofr chlorine How to read and use the MSDS forms How to use and maintain personal safety equipment. The safe way to respond to chlorine emergencies How to operate and maintain their chlorine feed system How the formation of alternate chlorine compounds are formed.
Target Audience
This course should be attended by operator maintenance personnel Lab personnel supervisors and managers. With the hazard associated with chlorine gas reviewing this module will add an extra layer of safety.
