Description
The purpose of this course is to educate the attendees on the importance of fall protection and the various types of fall protection that is available. Employees are exposed to falls from many aspects of their jobs. Whether it is working from an elevated surface or working in a bucket truck, fall protection is required to ensure a safe work area. This course will educate employees on the different types of fall protection options.

Course Content
-Introduction and Objectives (2 minutes)
-Why is Fall Protection important (5 Minutes)
-Discuss the importance fall protection plays in saving lives and keeping employees safe.
-Review and discuss the Fatal Facts Report from OSHA.
-Review Fall Protection Statistics (5 minutes)
-Review and discuss the most recent fall protection statistics
-Emphasize the likely occurrence of a fatal fall
-Fall Protection Types (30 minutes)
-Discuss the different types of fall protection and how they are properly used.
-fall protection to be discussed includes; warning line, safety monitor, net, guardrail system, and personal fall arrest system.
Rescue for Employees Involved in a Fall (7 minutes)
-Discuss the options and plan that should be in place prior to work beginning in the event an employee is involved in a fall.
Review (5 minutes)
-review the topics covered and ensure the attendees are familiar with the concepts of fall protection and their proper use.
Test (6 minutes)
Target Audience
All employees working in waste water or water facilities. Any other employee that is exposed to falls or working from heights should attend the training.
