Description
The RETTEW 2-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Awareness course provides a basic introduction to the requirements and applicability of the HAZWOPER standard. Content reviewed in the course includes spill identification, HAZCOM labeling requirements, container classification, an overview of the Emergency Response Guidebook, and environmental monitoring. Personal Protective Equipment requirements and selection are also covered, as well as the practical concerns of spill prevention and response. The ultimate goal is to provide a responder with the tools needed to identify hazards, research the material, and take measures to protect themselves and limit environmental and personal contact.
