Description
DOT Flagger Training provided to assist workers protect themselves, their co-workers, and the public when having to work on water/sewer lines on a public road. The worker controlling the traffic is responsible for the safety of everyone on the jobsite, as well as the driver entering the work area. Performing this task in a safe and consistent manner is important for the safety of all concerned.

Course Content
Workers are training on the PennDOT regulations as regards to traffic control and flagger safety. They are provided with the resources for Flagger Training, worksite signage and configuration, and the regulations they are required to follow. Workers are tested on the subjects discussed, and a practical period at the end is used to practice their skills and discuss various situations they might face when flagging.
Target Audience
All workers who have to partially block any part of a public roadway, including public driveways leading to parks and etc. are required to use these standards.
