All employers with hazardous chemicals in their workplaces must have labels and safety data sheets for their exposed workers, and train them to handle the chemicals appropriately.

• Explain the Hazard Communication Standard and the four main employer responsibilities under the HazCom standard 29 CFR 1910 Subpart Z
• Describe various workplace hazards and methods of protection and detection
• Define toxicity and describe factors that affect it
• Describe the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet and their contents such as physical and health hazards, safety precautions, first-aid procedures and spill response
• Describe various warning labels used for hazard communication
• Explain the changes and requirements under the Global Harmonized System
