Description
A confined space is a labor-safety term that refers to an area which has limited or restricted access and it is not designed for continuous employee occupancy. Hazards in a confined spaces often include suffocation by dangerous gases which may be present but not visible. Confined space accidents are of particular concern in because often multiple casualties occur when untrained rescuers succumb to the same hazard as the initial victim. The overall objective of this training is to educate and protect those entering or working around a confined space.

Course Content
This course provides information about working safely in confined spaces and hazardous atmospheres and necessary equipment and permits. Topics include definitions and identification of hazards related to confined spaces and hazardous atmospheres; duties of a confined space attendant; equipment, pre-entry requirements, and point-of-entry permits. This course provides an overview of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146.
