Description
This course is designed to train operators in the safe and effective operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants. This course emphasizes the knowledge and skills needed to operate wastewater treatment plants as efficiently as possible. Operators will gain the understanding of the basic operational aspects of their plant and learn how to analyze and solve operational problems.

Target Audience
All new operators, as a background and understanding of the various wastewater systems that exist. It is also a good review for management personnel, enforcement officials and authority members; for any operators concerned and interested in course content topics; and for all persons interested in certification. Six hours of math are covered in this course as a refresher. It is recommended to complete both this course and Volume 2 prior to taking a wastewater operator certification exam.
