Description
Introductory chlorination course for water and wastewater. Chlorination is one of the most widely used treatment processes for the disinfection of our public drinking water supplies and wastewater treatment plant effluents. This process is one of the important barriers of protection to keep our citizens safe from waterborne pathogens. Chlorine is also used in other water/wastewater treatment process besides disinfection. Participants with learn about the history and importance of chlorination, case studies on waterborne disease outbreaks, basic chlorination theory, chemistry and math 101, typical chlorination equipment layout, operation and maintenance , safe handling and storage, record keeping and troubleshooting. Proper techniques for sampling and free chlorine residual testing will be demonstrated during the training session.
