Review of energy and electrical systems and related electrical/math fundamentals. This course will also cover Single and Three Phase Power, transformers and general electrical principles. • How electrical charge relates to voltage, current, and resistance. • What voltage, current, and resistance are. • What Ohm’s Law is and how to use it to understand electricity. You will not need any other materials for this course.

1. Energy and the foundation of modern electricity. 2. Magnets, electromagnetism and electricity production. 3. Electrical theory and various principles. 4. Single and three phase power systems, sources, connections and transformers. 5. Electronic components and principles. 6. Electric motors and operating principles.
Target Audience
The primary target audience for this course includes electricians, instrument technicians or maintenance technicians but is not limited to include water distribution workers, well drillers, pump installers, water treatment operators, and wastewater operators. Also included are people interested in working in a water treatment/wastewater treatment or distribution facility and/or wishing to maintain CEUs for a certification license or to learn how to perform their job safely and effectively, and/or to meet education needs for promotion. There are no prerequisites, and no other materials are needed for this course.
