• Safety and personal protection equipment
• Handling emergencies

Course Content
This course is based on information and guidelines from The Chlorine Institute's and is designed to ensure client personnel who work with or near chlorine understand 1) the hazards associated with chlorine, 2) safe work practices for handling, storing, using and transporting chlorine, 3) use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and 4) proper emergency response procedures.

• Hazards of compressed gases and safe work practices
• Hazards of chlorine
• Safe chlorine handling for water and wastewater operators
• Generic emergency action/response plans
• Emergency response for chlorine container leaks†
Target Audience
This training is intended for water and wastewater staff who work with or around chlorine including those new to the water and wastewater treatment or new to the use of chlorine gas as a disinfectant.
