This course is designed to provide an overview of safe practices for water utility workers. As is the case in all industrial settings, safety is of paramount importance for drinking water utilities. This 4-hour course is a concise presentation of a number of topics important for ensuring the safety of personnel working in drinking water treatment plants, distribution systems, and other facilities involved in the production of quality drinking water. Some of the topics are relevant to workers in general industry settings (safety awareness, personal protective equipment, etc.), while other topics pertain specifically to the water industry (handling of gaseous chlorine and other water treatment chemicals, etc.).
