Description
EPA is planning a series of training courses on the newly released versions of the Vulnerability Self Assessment Tool (VSAT) and the Water Health and Economic Analysis Tool (WHEAT). Training objectives include: • Consistent with the 2013 National Infrastructure Protection Plan, encourage and assist water sector utilities in each EPA region to use VSAT and WHEAT to update or conduct an all-hazards risk assessment consistent with the J-100 standard. • Improve the quality of water sector risk assessments through better estimation of key risk assessment parameters, including threat, vulnerability and consequence. • Help water sector utilities use VSAT and WHEAT to evaluate the benefit and cost of additional countermeasures to reduce risk and, thereby, take steps to improve security and resilience in the sector.
