Description
This course will show what technologies are available for remote Data collection. We will demonstrate how it is viable for remote pump station monitoring, and how the data that is collected from the remote locations can be imported. We will discuss the pros and cons of the following systems: dial up modems, cellular, LAN connection, 900 spread spectrum with frequency hopping, 900 MHz with Ethernet, 2.4 GHz WIFI, 5.0 GHz WIFI, and UHF FCC Licensed radio. We will also discuss the differences between a SCADA system and a plant control system (DCS). Includes a demo of remote login to SCADA system via internet and smart phone.
