Description
Provide water and wastewater operators training on the control of hazardous energy and work under the protection of a lockout/tagout permit. Topics include the purpose of lockout/tagout programs, limitations of tags, and hazards of operating machines or equipment that have been locked or tagged out. This course primarily covers OSHA 29 CRF 1910.147.

• List the criteria for clearing machine jams
• Distinguish between “powering off” and devices that isolate hazardous energy
• Associate the neglect of recommended procedures with the potential for harm
• Explain the steps for locking out equipment and for returning it safely back into service

• Describe good practices and systems in lockout/tagout activities
