Description
This course will cover various advanced treatment topics to include but not limited to: SBRs, filtration disinfection and chlorination, odor control, nutrient removal and the treatment processes used.

Course Content
• SBRs: an overview of the basic operating principles, system design, stages of operation, guidelines for operation and important process control considerations
• Filtration: Conventional secondary wastewater treatment facilities cannot consistently meet more restrictive treatment standards. Additional or tertiary treatment such as filtration is needed to comply with more stringent effluent limits
• Disinfection and Chlorination: an overview of the disinfection process and why it is necessary
• Advanced Wastewater Treatment: an overview of odor control, effluent polishing, nutrient removal processes and other various topics
Target Audience
New operators not yet certified and certified operators wanting to earn continuing education credit.
