Description
POTWs with EPA-approved industrial pretreatment programs must complete industrial inspection of all Significant Industrial Users under 40 CFR Part 403.8. Even POTWs without EPA-approved industrial pretreatment programs should conduct inspections of industrial facilities within their sewer service area to ensure industrial discharges will not cause pass through or interference, or affect sludge quality at the POTW treatment plant. This course will discuss different types of inspections, how to prepare for an inspection, what to review during an inspection, safety concerns during inspections and follow-up inspection activities. Slug control plans will also be discussed.
