Description
The participant will have the basic understanding of the OSHA standard for preventing or minimizing the consequences of catastrophic releases of toxic, reactive, flammable, or explosive chemicals into locations that could expose employees and others to serious hazards. The participant will review and have a basic understanding of Chlorine as pertains to water and wastewater operators. Participants will review and understand Chlorine safety for water treatment facilities

• Participants will be able to analyze and Identify chemicals onsite and describe Global Harmonization System and read/review MSDS Sheets for Chlorine. Participants will identify unsafe usage, handling procedures and company policies for chlorine. • Participants describe standard operating procedures and differentiate between start-up/shut-down procedures, inspection procedures and maintenance procedures • Participants will identify hazardous onsite conditions, unsafe work practices and understand company security policies • The participant will able to identify and apply LockOut/TryOut procedures • The participant will define what confined spaces are and what is needed for safe entry into a confined space • The participant will identify personal protective equipment and apply OSHA standards and company PPE policies • Participants will describe site specific and company Hot Work Permits policies to include identification of permit documentation and duties of a fire watch • Participant
