Participation in this class will help prepare students for the wastewater subclass 2 exam.
Topics covered in this class include:
• overview of trickling filters
• trickling filter components
• classifications of trickling filters
• biological processes
• hydraulic and organic loading rates
• staging patterns
• recirculation patterns
• troubleshooting
• safety
• operation and maintenance
• overview of rotating biological contactors
• operation and maintenance of rotating biological contactors
• typical operating problems associated with rotating biological contactors
This course was developed using PADEP’s Wastewater Operator Certification Training Module 20 – Tricking Filters and Module 21 Rotating Biological Contactors.
