Description
This course covers the reasons for modifying the conventional process and the components of several common modification processes will be discussed. An overview of nitrogen removal and the treatment processes used for removal will be conducted.

Course Content
• Activated Sludge III: an overview of the components of several modifications to the conventional AS process and the reasons for the modifications. This course will include instruction on step-feed aeration, contact stabilization, complete mix, extended aeration, biological nutrient removal, SBR, A20 and pure oxygen systems. • Activated Sludge IV: an overview of the removal of nitrogen and the processes used. A plant tour will be included to familiarize participants with the treatment process.
Target Audience
New operators not yet certified and certified operators wanting to earn continuing education credit.
