Description
This course will cover various advanced treatment topics to include but not be limited to SBRs, filtration, disinfection and chlorination, odor control, nutrient removal, and the treatment processes used will be conducted.

Course Content
• SBRs: an overview of the basic operating principles, system design, stages of operation, guidelines for operation and important process control considerations; • Filtration: conventional secondary wastewater treatment facilities cannot consistently meet more restrictive treatment standards. Additional or tertiary treatment such as filtration is needed to comply with more stringed effluent limits • Disinfection and Chlorination: an overview of the disinfection process and why it is necessary. • Advanced Wastewater Treatment: an overview of odor control, effluent polishing, nutrient removal processes and other various topics.
Target Audience
New operators not yet certified and certified operators wanting to earn continuing education credit.
