Description
Give operators and management the tools to identify the nutrient removal capacity of the treatment plant. Also give references and offer assistance through DEP's Wastewater Treatment Assistance Program.

Course Content
At the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Determine if their process control strategy is sufficient and update it if not.
2. Identify the main parameters of concern in their influent.
3. Utilize the reference material given to recognize the reactions that are happening in their plant processes.
4. Calculate SRT, HRT, and tank volumes given pertinent information.
5. Determine if nutrient removal is a possibility given pertinent information.
6. Identify strategies for nutrient removal at a plant that is not designed for BNR.
