Description
Of the more than 16,000 public wastewater systems in the US, more than 70% serve 10,000 or fewer people. Small communities are undertaking projects to replace, or add new infrastructure, and this is often an opportune time to implement an Asset Management program to protect their investment in the assets and prolong the life of the equipment An asset management program should answer the five core questions of asset management: 1. What is the current state of my assets? 2. What is my required level of service (LOS)? 3. Which assets are critical to sustained performance? 4. What are my best O&M and CIP investment strategies? 5. What is my best long-term funding strategy? This presentation presents the steps and concepts with implementing an asset management program aligned with answering the five core questions.
