Description
Maintaining Disinfection for Giardia log inactivation at surface water treatment plants is critical for public health protection. Understanding how to achieve and calculate log inactivation is essential for operators in order to prevent violations of the treatment technique. The purpose of this course is to review the importance of maintaining adequate disinfection, to review the applicable regulatory citations and the ramifications of not maintaining the minimum level of disinfection and inactivation, to review factors affecting the calculation and mistakes to avoid, to review how to calculate log inactivation, and to review data management and reporting requirements.
