Description
To lead attendees through a risk evaluation process that water utilities can use to make risks more transparent and to inventory and prioritize risks. Kyle & Gary will make poster-sized Risk Matrix and Bow Tie diagrams for use in class exercises. Attendees will learn risk management terminology and tools that can be used, along with being shown some examples of their use. Water and Wastewater professionals are centered on reducing risks, whether it be worker safety, disinfection of drinking water, regulatory compliance, meeting discharge permit requirements, or others. Risk management is a large part of our daily work. Risk governance tools can help us assess, prioritize, and communicate about these risks, especially with emerging risks such as climate change and cybersecurity. The need to identify risks and talk about them remains very important.
