"The course is a free, hands-on training on the USEPA Flood Resilience: A Basic Guide for Water and Wastewater Utilities. The Flood Resilience Guide is a resource developed by the Water Security Division and provides the water sector with a user-friendly layout, embedded videos, and flood maps to guide utilities through 4-step flood resilience process to protect critical assets from flooding. The Flood Resilience Guide is targeted to small and medium drinking water and wastewater utilities. The course objectives are: -Learn how to use the U.S. EPA tool “Flood Resilience: A Basic Guide for Water and Wastewater Utilities” (Flood Resilience Guide) -Complete an example flood assessment using the Guide that also enables you to repeat the assessment at your facility -Learn how to identify mitigation measures to effectively protect your utility from flooding -Learn about funding options for implementation of mitigation measures - Network and learn from each other"

"One-day training course features hands-on training of the Flood Resilience Guide, four short presentations and several small group activities Materials include: -Flood Resilience Guide -Presentation slide deck explaining the four step flood resilience process of the Guide -Individual and small group activities associated with the four step process -Presentation slide deck by American Water on recent flood impacts to infrastructure and operations -Presentation slide deck by PAWARN on its role in providing mutual aid and assistance to the water sector -Presentation slide deck by PA Infrastructure Investment Authority (PennVEST) on financial resources utilities can apply for to fund mitigation measures -Presentation slide deck by York Water on how it implemented mitigation options following flooding events that damaged their facilities"
Target Audience
The target audiences of the training is drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utility staff/management involved in planning, operations, risk management and/or long-term decision making.  Other audience members will include local, state, or federal partners; water sector associations; consultants and technical service providers.
